Sunday brings the return of September. I look forward to the return of the fall season, not just for the pleasantness of sipping warm coffee on a cool morning or the joy of adding colorful cardigans to an outfit. Those are fun, simple gifts that are a part of the months to follow. I also love the refreshing walks in the evening with fewer mosquitos buzzing and more crisp air flowing through the trees.
Sunday may arrive with a new month and the promise of a new season, but this year I am especially excited to pick up the role of teacher again. I am excited about the structure of church, Sunday school, and introducing a new set of kids to the Word of God. I am excited to watch a beautiful group of children grow and learn what it means to love God and love others.
Sunday means I have one week before these lovely things begin. I will count down the days until I get to meet “my” kids. Yes, I will enjoy my last week of the summer schedule, but in my heart I am ready to be amazed for another year as I learn so much from some of the youngest in the church. I’m ready to have the pleasure of joining them in worship, as they sing their little hearts to our Father.
What makes your heart glad with the coming of fall?

My heart is glad when my toes are warm and the fireplace is on and I am safe inside breathing and letting the grass grow tall.
Those are lovely things in the fall and winter!
Beautiful description of the joys of this season. I’ve always thought of September as the beginning of a new year rather than the end of summer because it feels so alive. Thanks for linking up with the Five Minute Friday group!
Thank you, Chrystal! You are right..September is full of life and excitement with new things! Enjoy the month as it begins tomorrow!
Fall is my absolute favorite season! I am ready for the routine and normalcy to return too. Blessings!
Me too, Cheri. My summer has been far from “normal” for various reasons, but that happens as we live life each day. Hope your September starts off well! Thanks for visiting and commenting – great to “see” you again. 🙂
This is so sweet. I help 1 Sunday a month with my son’s Sunday school class, and it is always a blessing.
I live in South Louisiana, so I am glad that fall brings some cooler weather, so I can spend more time outside!
Blessings!
Thank you! How old is your son? I’m sure that is a joyful time. I have family in Louisiana! Fall is a relief up here, so I’d gladly welcome it down there as well. Enjoy!
Nothing like worshiping with little ones!!
I know – such a beautiful time! I love watching them sing, especially when they have learned the song well. 🙂
You would be a fantastic teacher Laura, A creative and spiritual individual I imagine you will capture the littles ones hearts and send them on the path of getting to know what life is truly all about.
I love it! I leave each week thankful to be a part of the children’s lives. And they sure capture my heart. 🙂
Amen to this. I didn’t see you on Sunday, though?!
Anna- thanks, friend! 🙂 I know..we had the yearly family reunion party in NC. I missed being there and seeing you!
